It is also the foremost handset which has a Qualcomm powered 1GHz Snapdragon processor. TG01 is projected to work on Windows Mobile 6.5 and an Orange-customized edition of Toshiba’s personal UI. The handset has a microSD card of 8GB, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. To make the package intriguing the handset come from Orange pre-loaded with a special film trailer of ‘GI Joe; an approaching summer blockbuster.
It has been decided by Orange and Toshiba to have Mobile Internet Explorer or MIE as the standard browser, which can be very frustrating at times. MIE does not come up to the browsing experience expected in Smartphone, which is available on recent HTC handsets as Opera Mobile.
Toshiba’s TG01 will be shipped with a resistive and not a capacitive touch screen. No stylus silo is present in the device but it has been confirmed by the company that a stylus will be included in the retail box. In fact this handset looks quite like the iPhone with its minimum hardware controls. It is possible for the Snapdragon chipset to support several mobile games with its 1GHz processor.
We typically associate Toshiba with TV and laptops, but now with the TG01 they seemed to have joined the Smartphone bandwagon. Their newest product in the arena of mobile solutions is the Toshiba TG01 Handset which can be accessed on Orange UK without any cost. You will have to take it for a 2 year contract at 39.15 GBP. It allows unlimited browsing on-device.
