Toshiba TG01

tg01Any mobile phone company which doesn’t have a smartphone in its portfolio is sure to be scoffed at, and Toshiba is no exception to this rule. With the release of phones like the Apple iPhone 3GS and the Nokia N97, Toshiba had to come with something that was revolutionary on every front possible. This was made possible with the Toshiba TG01, which was announced a long time before its official unveiling at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year.
The processor is the first big thing on the Toshiba TG01, having a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The most amazing part of the processor is that a fairly decent laptop nowadays has a 1.8 GHz processor, making the TG01’s processor sound even amazing. In addition to this, the dimensions are worth talking about. The phone has a slim waistline of just 9.9 mm, which is as slim as the extremely popular music phone, the Nokia 5310. The unusual width of the phone can be attributed to the extremely massive 4.1 inch WVGA screen. The width makes it extremely cumbersome to use with one hand and you might struggle to stick it in your jeans pocket. However, the screen is really great if you want to watch movies on the go in addition to surfing the internet on your phone.
The 3.2 megapixel snapper of the Toshiba TG01 is not something to trumpet about, having just a timer, a variety of resolutions and autofocus. However, if you want to use the camera very frequently, then you should steer clear of this phone. In addition, the phone doesn’t have any flash, but this shouldn’t be a problem if you are just going to take the occasional photo.
The phone has been released two months ago and should be available on contract with your mobile phone operator.
