The LG Arena KM900 is one of the first phones where LG is showing off their orientation towards user interface. The UI of the LG Arena KM900 uses a novel 3D cube style menu system which is designed to feel more intuitive due to its mimicking of the handling of physical objects.

The LG Arena KM900 is a slender 12mm thick with smooth titanium finish making it weigh a lot lighter than would be expected at only 105g. Its 3” TFT touch screen provides crystal clear quality with its 480 by 800 resolution. The LG Arena KM90 includes an accelerometer allowing the phone to change the display to either landscape or portrait depending on the orientation of the phone.  Also included is a novel proximity sensor, meaning the phone has the ability to turn itself off when not being used for a substantial amount of time.

The LG Arena KM900 has a 5MP camera that can take photos at an impressive 2,592 x 1,944 resolution. The camera can also capture video allowing the recording of 720 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second. What’s more, the LG Arena KM900 also has a second camera on the front of the phone allowing for two- way video calls.

LG are also planning to follow the lead of Apple and Nokia by introducing their own app store, allowing for the download and integration of a host of applications and games.

“The key thing to success for smartphones depends on content,” LG’s CeO was quoted as saying. “In line with the perception, LG will open ‘LG App Store’ in July to share contents for mobile applications.”
