iPhone 3GS
The iPhone 3GS is the latest upgrade to the popular iPhone which has been released by Apple. The Apple iPhone 3G S sports the same design as the 3G. There is no 3G camera and does not have any colour scheme other than the usual black. The iPhone 3GS is being released in 2 versions, one with 16 GB of internal memory and the other with 32 GB. However, Apple doesn’t plan to stop production of the iPhone 3G, but will retail it at a lower price.
The Apple iPhone 3G S’s speciality is Speed, as is indicated by the ‘S’ at the end of the name. The processor is faster, the Bluetooth has support for A2DP profiles and internet connectivity is supplemented by the 7.2 Mbps connection.
The camera has been upgraded, becoming 3.2 megapixels. In addition, there are some new features coming with the camera such as auto exposure, auto focus, geotagging support, video sharing/editing, auto white balance and VGA recording at 30fps.
There is a compass which supplements the GPS function. Voice control is also available which will enable you to dial your friends and family and enable you to manage your music playlist by just talking to your phone. MMS support is available on the iPhone 3GS.
There is a feature in the Apple iPhone 3G S known as Find My Phone, which is available only for Mobile Me customers. In case you have lost or had your phone stolen, you can exercise the option of remotely wiping the data from the phone and restore it to the factory settings so that your privacy will be kept intact.
The battery life has also seen some improvement, with 9 hours of browsing on a Wi-Fi network possible. In addition to this, you can watch 10 hours of video, listen to songs for 30 hours, 12 hours talk time on a 2G network and 5 hours of talktime on a 3G network.
Reports say that 80 countries will have the iPhone 3GS by August. Some countries will have it by July while the rest of the countries will have it by August.
