Ride the smartphone curve with the Curve 8520!

BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone_360The Blackberry Curve 8520 was launched into the market earlier in August of this year. The device succeeds in combining both an attractive appearance and functionality in a tidy package which is bound to be a big success. The phone will feature in the mid to high price range spectrum, but for a smartphone will definitely be on the lower end. Also called the Gemini, this device is set to dominate the market in terms of user friendliness. Operating the phone is a joy, as the keys compress with a satisfying click. Gone are the days where you had to make do with the simple numeric keypad! The full QWERTY keyboard can be easily used to type out your messages and emails. These keys are also quite solid and can stand the test of time even with intense texting.

The ugly trackball used for navigation in most Blackberry devices has been replaced with a sleeker stylish optical ball. You can navigate through the menus and the submenus on the Blackberry Curve 8520 easily with just a little flick of your thumb!

The only downside of the Blackberry Curve 8520 actually surrounds its connectivity features. The lack of 3G connectivity puts this phone slightly behind in terms of features, as there are many phones even in the mid range market that come with 3G connectivity. You cannot use the Blackberry Curve 8520 for video calling. Even access to the internet is limited as you can only make use of the GPRS speeds.

Of the media features, the media player is quite decent as you can play a range of media formats. The camera is also “cringe worthy” as the 2 MP lens along with lack of a flash render the camera virtually useless in capturing your precious memories.
