Smart Phone Gaming: Role Playing Games and Action Games

When it comes to finding ways to enjoy a smartphones’ capabilities, apps are a great way to get familiarized with the various controls that are used in the phone. And no apps are more amusing or enjoyable to use than game apps. Sadly, as fun as many games can be, not everyone is familiar with the jargons used to differentiate various types of games. Here is a quick introduction to some of the game categories that smart phone owners will encounter.

Action games sound fun and exciting, and in pretty much the same way people group together action movies in a single pile, the common conception is accepted. However, players should also expect to see some ‘casual’ action games thrown in. With games, even some titles can be considered as action games as long as they involve the player having a single character defeating enemies with weapons (even ones made out of balloons).

Role playing games are among the most complicated and complex games; while is it partly due to the often in-depth story lines and methodical gameplay, there is also the fact that role playing is a vague concept. But for a title to be considered as such, there are certain elements that should be employed.

First, players have an experience point system that allows their character to grow in terms of level. Each level up improves a character’s stats with the increase either automatically applied or determined by the player how to distribute.

An equipment system is also employed. It can be basic from giving a character a single item for defense and offense, to something completely complicated with buying various armor parts for the whole body.

Story and gameplay are also determining factors. While there is no limit to how complex or simple a story or plot can be, it is generally expected that RPGs have longer playing times than other genres and as such, these are not to be finished in a single sitting.
