Do You Need a Tablet or a Smart Phone?
While many people have already taken an early adaption to modern day technology, there are still those among us who are happy with their desktops or netbooks and their basic 2G handset. These devices alone will allow anyone to have access to the internet, make and receive phone calls and still not feel left out of society.
However, with people now expecting others to have web access more and more (as opposed to having web access at home and work –but not in between), many have found themselves reliant on making use of free WiFi hotspots and 3G connections in order to stay on top of things. While there is a definitive line of online addiction that one must not cross, there is also that unavoidable need to make use of new technology. This now leads us to the question, is it better to have a smart phone, tablet, or both?
The answer is actually a lot easier than what one would think. And this is because the first important realization that one must have is to know that owning a smart phone and owning a tablet are two unrelated things.
If you find yourself having plenty of free time throughout the day, in locations with web access or good network coverage, and spent plenty of time checking mail, social networks and similar online content, then you would need a smart phone. This will help fill in those blank hours and keep you from having to spend two hours straight each night checking emails.
If you find yourself discouraged from having to sit in front of a computer or laptop, and would prefer to have web access at home but without the fuss that comes with having to wait for long boot ups, then you might want to consider getting a tablet device. Just be aware that the tablet is not a complete substitute for a computer; while it makes media access easier, any and all computing functions and hardcore games are done with a desktop.
