O2 Gives Loyal Customers Incentive to Stay for iPhone 4

For loyal users of the O2 network, you have the upper hand when it comes to the iPhone 4G release. Just be very, very sure that you want to stay as an O2 customer before taking up the offer.

O2, following the trend that AT&T set has announced that they will allow their faithful subscribers a sort of “contract amnesty”. In other words, the carrier is offering a discount to help their customers pay for the remaining subscription charges before their contracts expire. That is, if these customers are still willing to use O2 when the iPhone 4 hits their shelves.

Regardless of how much those customers are currently paying, a flat rate of only 20 GBP will be billed to them. The discount will be applied to each and every month left on the original contract. This is a real bargain considering the fact that most of the iPhone toting subscribers opt for at least a 30 GBP contract. A 30 percent discount is not a bad deal at all when it comes to those who are in a hurry to switch over to using the iPhone 4.

The catch is that users will have to be sure that they want to start a brand new contract with the carrier because this foregoes the normal 14 day gap or “cooling off period”.

If you plan on taking up the deal, be aware that it will bind you for another preset time period (meaning years) so it would be safer to double check whether that is something you would want to pursue in the long run. If you have been enjoying O2’s service and do not mind having them as your carrier of choice for the long haul then there really is no reason to pass up this chance.
