Sony Ericsson Beefs Up 2010 Lineup with Keyboards
In the world of mobile phones, the physical keyboard is gold.
There are plenty of smart phones that come with a physical QWERTY keyboard, but only a few are worth using. In any case, having a physical keyboard is a major plus on devices that it is not uncommon to see to phones re-released with the only notable addition being a physical keyboard. At the same time, devices that naturally have a keyboard (such as the Motorola Milestone) are much sought after.
Looks like Sony Ericsson has been keeping tabs on this trend as they have introduced several new devices during the Mobile World Congress and at least three of these phones come packed with QWERTY keyboards.
First up is the Sony Ericsson Aspen. This Greenheart smart phone is impressive because it delivers all the basic things we expect that a smart phone can do, but using parts that are eco friendly. It also runs the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Maldives operating system and comes with a portrait orient QWERTY keyboard.
The X10 Mini does not come with a physical keyboard. Originally announced as the Robyn, the phone debuted at MWC along with the X10 Mini Pro –a version of the device that comes packed with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It is an impressive selection giving buyers a choice between a full touch screen type and one that has a keyboard. Interestingly, Sony has yet to announced a full sized X10 Pro device.
Lastly, following the heels of the SE Vivaz is the Vivaz Pro. Much like the Mini Pro, this version comes with a slide out QWERTY keyboard –though not with an 8 mega pixel camera, but only 5 (but still has HD video recording).
