Apple iPhone – Still Awesome

Apple iPhone 3GSThere are good mobile phones and then there’s the iPhone.

It is easy to see why the Apple device is the most iconic mobile phones of this era and why people love the device so much. Apple has put a lot of effort into designing a phone so future proof, that even after more than two years since the release of the iPhone, it is still able to compete and even best some of today’s high end smart phones.

Take the Google phone for instance. Since the very first time it was reported that the Google phone is in the works, many believed that the new device would be an iPhone killer.

It is impressive, that’s for sure. The Nexus One comes with a high speed 1GHz Snapdragon processor and a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen. Surprisingly, in terms of handling 3D, the iPhone still does a better job.

A recent comparative study into the capabilities of the two devices showed that the iPhone is able to handle 3D graphic better than its Android rival. There is even a video to prove it. It has shown that the iPhone is easily able to handle 3D graphics at 60 frames per second while the Nexus One is only able to deliver a little over 30 frames per second.

When the graphic detail is intensified, the iPhone slows down to about 30 frames per second. Given the same load, the Nexus One is only able to run at 21 frames per second.

With these capabilities it makes sense those graphic intensive games such as Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and Ace Combat Xi have been released for the iPhone. Not only can it handle 3D well, but the cel shaded graphics on GTA also appears nicely on the iPhone’s screen.
