Does the Dell Mini 3 Have What it Takes?

Dell Mini 3The Dell Mini 3 is Dell’s attempt at utilizing the Android Platform. A good deal of excitement was generated when word got out about Dell’s attempt to build a handset using the popular platform. The response to the finished product has been mixed. Some groups are excited about the phone while others believe it to be a little too weak to compete against other phones in its price range in certain countries. As of yet, it has only been released in Asia, though there are plans to take it worldwide.  Below, I will list the specs so that you, the reader, can decide for yourself whether or not, you think the Mini 3 will have a chance to be a success.

The Dell Mini 3 was created in partnership with AT &T.  It will be sold through the company alongside China Mobile (China), Vodafone (Europe, New Zealand, Austraila), M1 and Starhub (Singapore) and also Claro (Brazil).

The Mini 3 is a 3 G phone. It is speedy, has WiFi and social networking integration. Users are able to access their Twitter and Facebook accounts from the phone. Individuals will also be able to update their statuses and tweet their friends. The phone makes it easy to upload pictures so that ones family and friends can view them online.

The Dell Mini 3 has already been released in Asia. It has been available in that part of the world since November of 2009. It will enter markets outside of this one very soon. Dell has decided to release the phone in Malaysia, China, Brazil, Singapore, New Zealand and eventually the United States.

The Asian version of the phone has the following specs, a 3.5 inch touchscreen display with 640 x 360 LCD. It comes with GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, MicroSD card slot where up to 32 GB of memory can be added. The Dell Mini 3 also has handwriting recognition, a mini USB port, multi-touch UI and a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus. The phone weighs 103 grams and has the following measurements, 58 x 122 x 11.7mm.
